Youth
Nursery (4 and under)
If there’s one word to characterize our nursery it is Love. In our Nursery each week, children begin to learn about church by learning they are part of a church family, have room to be themselves, and are loved. While children of all ages are welcome to be in worship, our nursery care team offers a more relaxed setting for parents to drop in and out of or to leave their kids in loving hands. The nursery is open from 8:45 until 11:30 so that adults have plenty of time to connect with each other, attend other formation programs, and greet each other over coffee.
Children’s Chapel (JK through 2nd Grade)
The word that encapsulates this stage of formation is Breadth. In the first hour of Chapel from 9:00-10:00, kids are introduced to the sacred stories of our Christian faith, likely for the first time, with stories from “Godly Play.” Children will be greeted at the door of our chapel and will learn about getting ready to hear these stories. Once ready, they will listen to, and have the chance to wonder about, a story for themselves as they construct their own meaning.
In the second hour of chapel, kids continue to wonder about each week’s story through art and music. Once a month they will join the rest of the community for communion around the altar.

Primary Grades (3rd through 6th Grade)
If our chapel kids encounter the Breadth of scripture, our Primary kids will be encountering its Depth. This class is divided into a Fall and Spring session, each focusing on just one story from scripture. Using cardboard boxes to help practice and play through the story week by week, the class will offer a dramatic presentation at the end of the season. This Fall, the class will be preparing the Christmas pageant in depth, by exploring the scriptural roots and the extended stories around this well-known holiday tradition. In the Spring, they will choose what story to focus on. During the second hour, each child will have the choice to sit with their class in the sanctuary for worship or to assist the younger children with art and music. This is a great age for those curious about acolyting to get started.

Junior and Senior High (7th through 12th Grade)
Our class for Junior and Senior High School young adults will emphasize Embodiment. How do the lessons of Jesus connect into our lives, into our identities, and into our vision for who we will become? From 9:00-10:00 AM each Sunday, we’ll be looking at the Gospel story for that week, and we’ll focus specifically on how it connects to our day-to-day lives. The Bible is still speaking; the tricky part is listening. We’ll crack open the story to see its Good—and transforming—News. Then, during the ten o’clock hour, we will participate in the Eucharist after class, whether by worshipping together, or supporting the liturgy directly by acolyting, reading, or greeting. Please reach out to Ian Grant-Funck for more information.
Youth Group (7th through 12th Grade)
We will meet every Sunday evening over dinner, and will hold space to grow together intellectually, spiritually, and socially. There will be time for fellowship, prayer, games, study, activities, and (most importantly) food.
If this sounds like the kind of journey you want to be on (or know somebody who is ready to ride), reach out to our Youth Minister, Ian Grant-Funck.
Summer Mission Trip (8th – 12th Grades)
Another opportunity for our High School students is our annual mission trip, a week-long service project. In 2024, we worked with the Appalachia Service Project. All interested High Schoolers are welcome! More information to come about the 2025 Mission Trip, so stay tuned.
